Developers of Golfito Marina Village & Resort, the all-new world-class yachting, sport fishing, eco-tourism destination and luxury resort property, nestled in the fabulous Costa Rica yacht charter location, announced that construction of the project’s grand entrance is underway. Crews are currently developing the infrastructure, comprising interior roadways as well as the Resort’s beautiful grand entrance canopy, which will welcome guests with a custom waterfall and tranquil lagoon.
“We have assembled a very talented Costa Rican and North American construction team and are pleased with how efficiently and smoothly construction is progressing,” said Mike Mercer, Construction Director. “There are so many unique aspects to this world-class luxury resort destination and we are working closely with local authorities and the community to bring an eco-minded approach and the upmost care to all facets of the construction,” Mercer commented.
In addition to construction of the entrance features and interior roadways, the first phase of construction includes 50 deep-water marina slips, 265’ long high volume filtered fuel dock, Fisherman’s Village, dry boat storage and a service yard. When completed in 2015, Golfito Marina will include 132 slips designed for yachts 30 to 350 feet (9m to 106m) and a spectacular array of amenities including a yacht club; tournament fishing facilities and charter fleet; and round the clock concierge services. Golfito Bay, located just 343 miles north of the Panama Canal, is considered a safe harbor and is the only approved drop-off and pick-up zone for yacht transport ships on the west coast of Central and South America.
A limited selection of fully furnished beach and marina villas will be available, with construction slated to begin second quarter 2015. Enhanced with dramatic strokes of style, lush tropical landscaping and distinctive architectural accents, featuring a variety of spacious floor plans, these residences will be among the last ever built in the area, ensuring that it forever remains a sanctuary of nature in its most beautifully preserved state.
Once complete, Golfito Marina Village & Resort will feature a full-service open-air spa, well-equipped fitness facilities, exotic swimming pools, great island-style restaurants and a nightclub for after-hours fun and entertainment.
The project offers a unique location previously inaccessible to travelers seeking luxury accommodations in an untapped destination dubbed by National Geographic as, “the most biologically intense place on earth.”
