Following two custom superyacht tenders for Oceanco motor yacht Seven Seas (ex hull Y706), Hodgdon is proud to present new contracts for a 10.5m custom limo tender and 10.5 m custom open tender signed with another Oceanco client.
The new build design and construction specifications for these superyacht tenders by Michael Peters Yacht Design, based in Sarasota, Florida, were developed by A.J. Anderson of Wright Maritime Group, based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
The first yacht tender will be shipped to The Netherlands in the fall of 2012 followed by the second one late in the year. The MPYD limo tender design was a Showboats Design Award finalist for 2011 and features a private jet level interior, hydraulically operated lifting roof and a cruising speed for 12 guests of nearly 30 knots.
The second pair of yacht tenders are custom designs from the renowned London-based studio, Andrew Winch Designs as well as the Hodgdon´s in-house team for a project at a Northern European shipyard. At 8.5m this custom limo tender features a retractable full coverage moon roof, guest head and 30 knots cruising speed from the Volvo D-6/400 power. The open tender, features a beachable ramp to facilitate guest and beach toy deployment. Both yachts are slated for an early 2013 delivery.
Additional news for the 2012 is the launch of the 10th edition of the annual Shipyard Cup with more than 15 sailing superyachts from 20 to 50 metres, held in August 2012, Boothbay Harbor, Maine. Among some of Hodgdon’s more notable contributions to yachting in the last few decades are: the 124´ sailing yacht ANTONISA, the 154´ charter yacht SCHEHERAZADE and the 80´ LIBERTY.
