Nakilat Damen Shipyards Qatar (NDSQ) has announced the delivery of a pair of 71m/233ft ‘Fast Diving Vessels’, which were constructed over a four-year period until their launch in January this year.
Originally announced in 2013, the support vessels have interior and exterior styling created by Stefano Pastrovich and were known as PROJECT AL JASSASIYA I and PROJECT AL JASSASIYA II, although they have since been renamed to S/V UMM ALHOUL and S/V DALOOB respectively.
Both hulls are based on the Damen support platform 6711/6911 that produced support vessel INTREPID, GARCON and World Superyacht Awards 2018 award-winner GAME CHANGER.
NDSQ is a joint venture between Qatar Gas Transport Company Ltd. (Nakilat) and Damen Shipyards Holding BV. The company was founded in 2010 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Damen shipyards, with 70% ownership to Nakilat and 30% ownership to Damen. The company constructs steel and aluminium vessels up to 170m/558ft in length.
