Damen Yachting celebrated its busiest day yet, as it launched two new Amels Limited Editions, the 74m (242’7″) AMELS 242 and the 60m (196’9″) AMELS 200. This is the first time the shipyard has launched two yachts on the same day and these semi-custom models also share exterior designer Tim Heywood and interior designer Winch Design.
The owner of the AMELS 242 opted for an eye-catching Flag blue hull and Oyster white superstructure with windows and vertical elements in a unique grey colour. The blue theme continues throughout the interior which includes a wall of semi-precious agate blue stones in the main entranceway and a range of blue marbles and mosaics throughout the wellness area.
Other highlights include a dedicated owner’s deck with jacuzzi, large aft swimming pool plus the beautiful wellness centre. Up to 12 guests can be accommodated across the six staterooms and will be entertained in the ample dining and salon areas across her multiple decks.
The AMELS 200 launched is the fourth in its range and reflects the owners unique vision with Whisper Grey hull, which is also seen in touches across the superstructure to emphasise the curves and arches.
The new owners intend to spend extended periods at sea exploring the Mediterranean and will both work and entertain friends on board. The design reflects this lifestyle and includes a balcony on the main deck and exterior bars on every deck.
The shipyard is currently at full capacity and these launches make way for other new and exciting projects. What could better demonstrate how the superyacht industry is thriving than the launch of two yachts from such a distinguished builder on the same day?
