Three months after her public debut at the Monaco Yacht Show, 67m/220ft superyacht support vessel 6711 from Damen has been sold. HULL 6711 is part of a trend seeing the rise in popularity of superyacht support vessels, which provide additional room for sizeable water toys and vehicles such as submarines, helicopters, and snowmobiles as well as accommodating crew with the expertise to navigate in extreme environments.
Support vessels are typically built with long-range cruising capabilities to follow expedition yachts into remote regions for extended periods of time, and HULL 6711 is no different: She uses the SEA AXE platform for excellent performance even in rough conditions and is capable of a range of 4,500 nautical miles while cruising at a comfortable 16 knots and has a top speed of 22 knots, achieved using four MTU 16V 4000 M63L engines.
