Yesterday, November 27, 2014, saw Superyacht Australia announce the dates for the 3rd Tahiti Rendezvous, set to take place on Friday, June 19, 2015. The event has become a key event on the calendar of superyachts cruising the Pacific region, and it is once again expected that significant numbers will turn out for the cooking competition as well as party. The event will be hosted by Marina Taina, a fabulous Tahiti yacht charter destination and an important superyacht marina, with capacity for over 550 yachts, a dedicated Superyacht dock, professional agent services, as well as several popular restaurants. A perfect location for the event being one of the key gateways to the region.
Tahiti Superyacht Agent Etienne Boutin said: “I can say this is a very welcomed event for us agents as it provides fun for the crew when we as agents are extremely busy and most of all it focuses attention on our destination within the superyacht industry. We have already had queries re when the Australian event is going to be held”.
Invitations to the party and cooking competition will be extended to all superyacht captains and crew who will be in the South Pacific over this period. Last year’s winners in a hotly contested competition were charter yacht Bliss and charter yacht Salperton, followed by Erica 11, charter yacht Ultimate Lady and superyacht Mondango. The key prize being a trip for two to Australia.
This exclusive opportunity to network and promote Australia’s unique surroundings has once again attracted a high level of Australian industry support with a strong contingent of the Australian superyacht sector traveling to Tahiti once again to showcase their capability at the event.
CEO M Edwards said: “This event has become a key event on the Superyacht Australia calendar. The key focus for Superyacht Australia is promoting Australia as a destination for the global Superyacht fleet, what better way to do this than hosting a fun Australian party and event while a significant number of Superyachts are in Marina Taina.
We see this event as an excellent way to thank captains and crew for their past support and to ensure new superyachts in the South Pacific are fully informed about Australia’s excellent cruising grounds, iconic events and capability to service the global Superyacht fleet. The last event has certainly been a success with a number of the superyachts visiting Australia and utilising our great facilities”.
With a strong focus on the Asia Pacific region as a cruising and luxury yacht charter destination Edwards expects next year’s event to be the biggest yet.
