It was a great success for this year’s NZ Millennium Cup, hosted for the first time in its new annual format. The overall winner of this popular event was the defending champion, Yachting Developments‘ 33.8m sailing yacht Silvertip. In second place was charter yacht Georgia, followed by luxury yacht Imagine, superyacht Janice of Wyoming and sailing yacht Eclipse, respectively.
Dates for the 2013 NZ Millennium Cup have been announced as 14-17 February 2013 and registration is now officially open. Janice of Wyoming, Silvertip and the 31m Alloy-built charter yacht Pacific Eagle have already signed up for 2013, and strong interest from two 2011 European built yachts has also been registered.

SILVERTIP
Defender of the Millennium Cup, high performance sloop 33.8m Silvertip superyacht was built in 2001 of composite construction by Yachting Developments for performance, comfort and long distance cruising ability with striking and innovative design by Ed Dubois. She won both the Superyacht Society “Best Sailing Yacht” and Showboats “Best Sailing Yacht” awards in her class – the first yacht ever to win both awards.
JANICE OF WYOMING
Sailing yacht Janice of Wyoming was launched on 10 April 2005 and built to Lloyd’s classification. She is the twelfth design from Dubois Naval Architects built by Alloy Yachts since 1991. A 39.6m (130ft) sloop, Janice features a low profile hull that offers a sleek shape and high performance. This will be the third NZ Millennium Cup for Janice of Wyoming.
PACIFIC EAGLE
Designed by Don Brooke and built by Alloy Yachts in 1990, the 31m charter yacht Pacific Eagle is a New Zealand-based luxury yacht. Pacific Eagle underwent a significant refit in 2002, after which she competed in her first NZ Millennium Cup regatta.
