Dominator Design & Development AG have been successfully nominated for the ‘Yacht Concept up to 40 metres‘ award in the International Yacht & Aviation Awards 2015, with the Dominator 26m motor yacht Ilumen. Luxury superyacht Ilumen represents a joint concept between Dr Wolfgang Pernsteiner and designer Alberto Mancini, with the shipyard Dominator Yachts and Naval Architect Andrea Agrusta.

Dominator Yachts is unique in offering a truly bespoke service in the 20m-40m yachting segment. The key aspects of this project are light and space. The design brief was to bring the space and the feeling of a mega-yacht into a 26 metre raised Pilot House.

The D26m luxury yacht Ilumen is not just unique in design such as merging interior and exterior spaces, but also in the experience it offers its owner. The owner and their family have the feeling of being in a luxurious villa with modern architecture but on the sea. The owner’s suite provides 180 degree panoramic views. A retractable ceiling makes it possible to sleep under the stars to the sound of the sea, an experience previously reserved for mega-yacht owners. The owner can literally breathe with freedom, being surrounded by nature without having unnecessary obstacles. Floor to ceiling windows are complemented by glazed side passages to ensure the ocean is always in sight. Exceptionally luxurious detailing and the most opulent materials are used such as backlit white onyx, ebony, zebrano, matt oak, silk, and soft nubuck leather.

The propulsion system is revolutionary: 4 different modes propel from pure electric to electric mode + diesel engine for the maximum ‘Sport’ mode. A high perfomance Hull made of carbon-kevlar-fibreglass provides weight reduction of 25%, and outstanding manoeuvrability and wave reduction, and is 8x stronger than steel. A double floor provides the ultimate in safety.

A truly bespoke experience even with the hull, customers can choose if they want a displacement, semi-displacement or a planing hull. Other features will be a stern beach are directly on the sea, a fully equipped flybridge with jacuzzi pool and bar station and the finest interiors customised to an owner’s needs.
