Using the products of Duratek Epoxy as well as Polyurethane Systems, Dream Ship Victory Ltd. in Marmaris Bozburun is currently working on the world’s largest wooden sailboat – the 141m superyacht Dream Symphony. The two companies signed an agreement in July 2011 and the sailing yacht Dream Symphony’s building started with KLM 474 Wood Lamination and DURATEK 1000 Fiber Lamination Resins. Expected consumption of these products will exceed 300 tons.
Mr Valeriy Stepanenko, Owner and General Manager of Dream Ship Victory: “We have been working with Duratek for 7 years. At the end of 2012, we will launch the 65-meter superyacht Mikhail Vorontsov, which was also built with wood lamination technique. Besides the structural materials for wood and fiber lamination, all other epoxy or polyurethane based products, which were necessary for coating and other purposes were also purchased from Duratek. The application was carried out according to the technical advices given by Duratek. A continuous quality control procedure was performed for the products and applications. Duratek products proved a great success in these tests.”
Mr Selçuk Paksoy, Owner and General Manager of Duratek: “We have been working with Dream Ship Victory for a long time and we are proud of that. During this long time period, a very close commercial and technical relationship was formed between both parties based on trust. Even though we have an almost 40-year-old company history, taking part in ‘Dream Symphony’ project and supplying our materials for its production excites me so much as if I were a new engineer at the beginning of his career. Dream Ship Victory Ltd improved itself ever since it was established. It became a raw model shipyard for Turkey with its high quality. We are confident that this yard will achieve many more great projects.”
