Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, the Dubai Maritime City Authority (DMCA) has concluded the Dubai Maritime Week activities with an appreciation gathering ceremony to recognize its partners in the fabulous Dubai yacht charter location. The ceremony hosted H.H. Sheikh Mansoor Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who distributed the prizes to the honourees.
DMCA expressed its appreciation to its strategic partners from government and non-government authorities for supporting and promoting the local maritime industry. The awarding ceremony was held in the presence of H.E. Sultan Bin Sulayem, Chairman of Dubai Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation and President of DMCA, along with senior government officials, regional and international experts, decision makers and industry professionals.
H.E. Bin Sulayem said: “We want to express our highest appreciation and gratitude to H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, for supporting the Dubai Maritime Week. I also extend my deepest gratitude to H.H. Sheikh Mansoor Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum for attending the event and leading the appreciation ceremony.”
The ceremony was the closing event of the Dubai Maritime Week 2014, which was organized by DMCA to shed light on the latest regional and international maritime issues. In addition, it exchanged the best practices and latest trends with an aim to position Dubai among the leading maritime centres of the world.
Amer Ali, Executive Director, Dubai Maritime City Authority, explained that the appreciation ceremony is part of the Authority’s initiative to recognize the vital contributions of the public and private sectors in fostering the components of the maritime sector and updating its infrastructure, operations and logistics. The event also provided diversified investment opportunities to boost Dubai’s maritime competitiveness in the region and world.
Ali added: “We are pleased to honour our strategic partners during Dubai Maritime Week 2014 which serves as a key addition to Dubai’s calendar of international events. The event offers an interactive platform to promote communications between high-level government officials, decision-makers, industry leaders, experts, and ship owners and operators to exchange best practices and expertise in order to raise the bar of Dubai as a local, regional and international leading maritime destination.”
The honourees were Coast Guard Group – Fourth Squadron, Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA), the National Transport Authority (NTA), the Dubai Municipality, the Dubai Police, the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), General Secretariat of Dubai Executive Council, DP world – UAE, Dubai International Marine Club (DIMC), Department of Planning and Development – Trakhees, Dubai Customs, Dubai Courts, Directorate General of Civil Defence – Dubai, Supreme Committee for legislations in the Emirate of Dubai, the Dubai Department of Economic Development (DED), Government of Dubai Legal Affairs Department, Dubai Department of Finance, General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs, Dubai Ambulance, Dubai Fishermen Co-Operative Association, Dubai Statistics Centre, Government of Dubai Media Office and Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB), in addition to a group of media entities which support DMCA’s vision and mission to create a vibrant and secure maritime industry.
