The third annual Dubai Pre-Owned Boat Show has demonstrated to be yet another huge success with 29 yachts sold at an accumulated value of more than AED 9.5 million. With an extraordinarily strong turnout of more than 7,200 people visiting the fabulous Dubai Creek Marina, the three-day show has indeed established itself as one of the best boating events in the region.
This year’s Dubai Pre-Owned Boat Show sponsored by MIDEX AIRLINES, ran from the 8-10th November 2012 at Dubai Creek Marina and showcased over 85 boats ranging in size from 17ft to 150ft with a total value of over AED 75 million.
As a one-stop-boat-shop, the show provided a complete platform for sailing aficionados to buy, sell, insure, register and sail on the very same day. With an assortment of leisure and retail offerings, a fun and engaging Kids Zone from Little Wonders, and a variety of activities for adults and children alike, the event catered to a versatile range of visitors from across the GCC, from leisure-seekers and families to industry-professionals, marine enthusiasts, captains, boat owners, sellers and buyers.
Delicious eats and an exotic Spanish-themed Fiesta Bodega Island, which hosted performances from The Gypsy Swing Project, ensured the event made a splash on the Dubai social scene. The thrilling Surf Ski Race was an exciting addition to this year’s line up, as well as high-speed power boat demonstrations got the crowd’s adrenaline pumping.
Speaking on the continued success of the event, Abdulla Ali Al Noon, Marina Operations Manager for Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club, remarked: “We are delighted that we have been able to share our passion for boats and marine activities with communities across the UAE and wider GCC. The number of attendees was stronger than ever and the event witnessed a record numbers of boat sales.”
“We would like to thank our event partners MIDEX AIRLINES, Arabian Scandinavian Insurance Company and Emirates NBD, as well as the team here at Dubai Creek Marina, for all their hard work and dedication in making this show a success for the third consecutive year. The event has become more than just a sales platform, it is a complete nautical experience, and we are already looking forward to next year!” added Abdulla.
