Dynamiq Yachts have launched their TransFORM! programme which will source, design & engineer and build superyachts converted from commercial vessels.
They commented, “With TransFORM! we propose to select from the most widespread Platform Supply Vessel (PSV) series and use them as a base, creating a complete refit offering.”
PSVs were designed to operate in rough seas so offer high levels of seaworthiness, plus the vast decks allow for expansive guest areas, garage space for loads of tenders and toys plus the potential for gyms, spa zones and cinema rooms.
The advantage of a conversion project is that owners get a modern superyacht must faster and for the fraction of the cost of a new construction as Dynamiq plans to use donor vessels.
Their first project is believed to be underway in the shape of 77m UT755 originally designed by Rolls Royce Marine. This yacht concept was developed in collaboration with Monaco-based studio Dobroserdov Design and will boast seven sumptuous staterooms, leisure and entertainment facilities and a helicopter hangar.
Converting commercial vessels into superyachts is a tried and tested process, popular with owners looking to create impressive expedition yachts, some of which are available for charter.
