The eagerly awaited Wider 150 super yacht GENESI (project name) has successfully hit the water at the Wider Super Yacht Division headquarters in Ancona, Italy. Currently available for sale, the all-aluminium motor yacht GENESI was created by yacht designer Fulvio De Simoni, in collaboration with Wider Founder and CEO, Tilli Antonelli, and the yard’s in-house design team.
“The extra time in the main shed allowed us to push ahead with the interior… it is now 90% complete. I have launched dozens of yachts in my career but have never done so with this level of completion to the interior outfitting… this will save us time in the final commissioning,” commented Juan Balaguer, Wider COO.
“It is enormously satisfying to see “Genesi” in the water for the first time,” said Tilli Antonelli, Wider Founder and CEO. “But now we have the important task of checking that everything is working to the same high standards that we have set ourselves in every other aspect of the construction process. We believe that this can be done in 8-10 weeks but will not rush anything if it means compromising on the quality of the finished yacht…We will make sure that she is 110% finished before unveiling her in full to the market.”
The WIDER 150 yacht GENESI boasts more than 350m2 of external areas, providing numerous relaxation spaces in direct connection to the sea for the owner and guests to enjoy. These include an amazing beach club with plenty of room for sunbathing and a covered 7m seawater swimming pool. Thanks to its floating system, the stern of the vessel can be converted into a large garage ideal for storing the WIDER 32 yacht tender. The beach club’s seawater pool opens up at the transom to allow the tender to be driven in.
Luxury yacht GENESI also hosts a large sun deck fitted with a full bar, barbecue and spa, as well as a concealed foredeck lounge in front of the wheelhouse, hidden beneath a watertight hatch on the coach roof; the hatch raises to unveil a generous entertaining area, complete with sofas and flat-screen TV.
The elegant, contemporary interiors of GENESI superyacht are fitted with large floor to ceiling windows throughout the main and upper deck lounge areas permitting sunlight to flood in and provide panoramic views of the sea. The upper deck hosts a sky lounge and dining area with sliding doors to the outside, while the main deck features a spacious main saloon that is divided into two large living spaces, one for relaxing the second a formal dining area.
Forward of the saloon is a spacious full-beam owner’s suite that can also be split into two distinct areas, separated by sliding doors, an office / study and sleeping quarters, including walk-in wardrobe, an amazingly large sea terrace, as well as bathroom with shower and custom made wooden bathtub. The guest accommodation is equally generous meaning the WIDER 150 super yacht GENESI is as well suited for a luxury superyacht charter as for the owner’s friends. There are four en-suite cabins, including 2 VIP cabins and 2 standard, one of the latter also including a Pullman berth for a child. Built to comply with the latest standards (LY3) for crew, the vessel features four twin cabins, a sizeable cabin for the captain next to the wheelhouse, and an ample crew mess.
The WIDER 150 yacht GENESI is run by a diesel-electric propulsion system mixed up with Azimuthal pods, resulting in reduced consumption, while at the same time facilitating unprecedented range. The vessel can cruise using only the battery packs, in ZEM (Zero Emission Mode), or with up to four inline diesel generators. This means it can cruise at a higher range of speeds, while continuing to enjoy limited specific fuel consumption.
The WIDER 150 motor yacht GENESI is expected to have a range of 3,000nm at a cruising speed of 13 knots, increasing to 4,200nm at the economical speed of 11 knots. The yacht can reach a top speed of 15 knots and can also run at 5 knots when solely using batteries in Zero Emission Mode.
