Peder and Ewa Eidsgaard of Eidsgaard Design along with Richard Faulkner of Compass Tenders were all pleased to receive the Showboats award for Best Tender Design 2012 for the 9m Limousine yacht tender for the 77.7m motor yacht Tango by Feadship. They have met all of the judging requirements, comprising appearance, mechanical installation, functionality for purpose, ease of lift aboard the parent craft and of course overall performance.
The ShowBoats Design Awards are the pinnacle of industry recognition for all Superyacht designers, constructors as well as suppliers. To be honoured with a Neptune Trophy is to be acknowledged as the best in the category, within an extremely demanding industry.
Limousines are the modern solution for some of the world’s most exclusive Superyachts, as a stylish passage when venturing ashore, offering a luxurious level of comfort. The Tango Limousine yacht tender was the first to be built by Compass Tenders, in conjunction with Eidsgaard design as well as EYOS Tenders and since the launch, it has had a successful Mediterranean and Caribbean season and has performed exceptionally well in both sets of conditions.
“We are thrilled to have been honoured with this award; our success is due to a combination of skilled workmanship, uncompromising attention to detail and the dedication of the team.” Richard Faulkner proudly commented, as he displayed the award outside the ceremony.
Traditional British craftsmanship is alive and well at Compass Tenders. Combined with the team’s exceptional understanding of modern composite construction techniques, Ed Wingate’s visionary design work, leading edge engineering and technology, makes for a truly world class custom tender builder and paves the way for further tenders of uncompromising quality. Already two 11m yacht tenders and a 7.35m D-RIB are under construction for delivery in early 2013, with several other high profile projects in the pipeline.
