Australia-based Ricky Smith Designs has released a new 80m/262ft superyacht concept named the EPOCH 80, a sleek and sporty all-aluminium vessel characterised by an inverted bow, full-height windows that sweep along the hull and clean geometry that conceals walkways with high gunwales to ensure guest privacy.
The concept was penned in conjunction with Danish naval architects Dr Andrew Baglin + Stuart Friezer Marine, who together with Ricky Smith Designs have over 30 years of experience in naval architecture, shipbuilding, interior and exterior design and construction. The result is a five-deck luxury yacht containing a floor entirely dedicated to the Owner, featuring a walk-around exercise deck, a cocktail bar and secluded dining area for entertaining clients as well as family and friends.
Another unique element in the design is a 360° glass curtain around the Owner’s penthouse, ensuring sweeping views throughout. The helipad on the deck above leads down to the Owner’s deck, making it a hub of social activity.
On the other floors, a panorama entertainment lounge also functions as a cinema and comes with a bistro cocktail bar and a butler’s kitchen. Outside, there is an abundance of space for hosting quayside events and guests will be spoiled for choice on sunbathing areas, with numerous sun loungers, alfresco seating and a Jacuzzi available.
A lift connects all the floors and provides quick access from the guest accommodation to the beach club in the stern. The sizeable tender garage will also allow for plenty of water toys wherever M/Y EPOCH 80 cruises, with side-hatches in the bulwark for quick launch and retrieval.
Among the eight guest staterooms, there is a Presidential suite with its own saloon and dining table, two VIP staterooms each with direct access to private reception facilities. Up to 10 staterooms will be available to accommodate a maximum of 20 guests, while the crew quarters will sleep a maximum of 24 crew over 12 cabins.
For propulsion, luxury yacht EPOCH 80 will use Azipods with a bow-thruster for a top speed of 25 knots.
