Italian yacht builder Eurocraft is working on a mini-series of Explorer-type yachts measuring around 44-meters, featuring an in house design by Eurocraft. The Eurocraft Explorer 44 superyachts measure 43.50-meters long built in steel and aluminum and will displace around 420 tonnes. Eurocraft Cantieri Navali currently has 2 of these explorer superyachts in build (hull number #507 and #607) at their port facility in Vado Ligure Italy.
The two sister ships will be delivered in 2011 and 2012. Eurocraft project number 507 is already in the outfitting stage while Eurocraft hull 607 recently had its hull and superstructure completed.
Both Eurocraft Explorer 44 motor yachts are sub typed as Displacement/Expedition motor yachts and are perfect for the expedition side of yachting. The Eurocraft Explorer 44 superyachts have steel hulls with aluminum superstructures, are built to RINA class, and will comply with MCA rules. The 142ft motor yachts by Eurocraft are light yet sturdy, able to withstand rough seas and cruise longer distances, due to its efficient fuel economy. The taller bow handle and dispel bow spray effectively while cutting cleanly through rough seas while a wide beam helps give a smooth ride.
The interior of the Eurocraft Explorer 44’s incorporate luxurious style, comfort, and elegance. Interior decor is expected to be dual toned from the natural colour of the woodwork and the light cream tones of the upholstery and fabrics. The latest entertainment systems will be featured throughout the yacht.
The five cabin lay-out for ten guests includes a large master suite located on the main deck featuring a bedroom, his and hers bathrooms plus Spa Pool and shower, a walk-in closet, and a separate office. The lower deck boasts four guest cabins, which include a full beam VIP cabin, a double cabin, and two twin cabins. There is also five crew cabins to accommodate the 9 man crew.
The Eurocraft Explorer 44 will be powered by Twin MTU 12V 2000 M60 816 hp engines or 1632 max horsepower driving a twin propulsion system. The maximum speed of the Eurocraft Explorer 44 motor yacht is 14 knots with a cruising speed of 12 knots and a range of 9000 miles at 10 knots.
The fuel capacity for the Eurocraft Explorer 44 is 105,000 litres (27,741 gallons). Both of the Eurocraft Explorer 44’s also carry 23,700 litres (6,262 gallons) of fresh water.

Eurocraft in conjunction with two other companies have been building ships and contracting for shipyards both in Italy and abroad since 1988. In 2000, the three companies consolidated their manpower into one single company and at the same time invested in a new shipyard that would be its main facility for yacht construction. The new shipyard was constructed with the idea of handling projects from between 20 to 60 metres in length.
