Yacht design is by nature interdisciplinary, combining knowledge from different fields like architecture and design, as well as multimedia, engineering, material sciences, ergonomics and technology. Yacht design is about design thinking and storytelling, based on a variety of technical, commercial, human, social, cultural and aesthetic aspects.

That is why the European Institute of Yacht Design understands yacht design as a key factor for creative interdisciplinary cooperations between design, architecture and multimedia art fields; and promotes the potential of interdisciplinary design thinking as a way of bringing together different creative disciplines, forging new connections and contributing to a collective creative knowledge.
