The last day of the popular New Zealand Millennium Cup 2016 saw the two superyachts built by Claasen Shipyards: the 108’ classic sloop SHAMOUN and the 90’ Truly Classic KEALOHA, shine on New Zealand waters.
On the final day of the race, KEALOHA and fellow competitor TAWERA were catching charter yacht SHAMOUN by the fourth mark, and on the final stretch for home the three vessels were neck and neck.
As the finishing line approached KEALOHA and TAWERA just eased out SHAMOUN, with TAWERA eventually taking out line honours and the series. Charter yacht KEALOHA placed second and took a special recognition for being the first luxury vessel to visit the South Pacific nation specifically for the Cup. SHAMOUN received the respect of all who participated in the Millennium Cup for the way she had set the pace during this race and on previous days.
