The Asia Superyacht Rendezvous Cup is now entering its 18th year and the third consecutive occasion on which it is being hosted in Thailand at the SALA Resort & Spa Phuket within the magnificent Mai Khao Bay.
The invitation-only event is open to superyacht owners, captains and crews of yachts above 21m/70ft, and the ASR Cup holds the title of the longest-running regatta of its kind in Asia. The three-day event will begin with a cocktail party aboard one of the attending vessels, with the following day commencing the racing for the third ‘Winner’s Cup’.
The evening will feature a grand ‘Owners dinner’ for networking and discussing the latest developments within the yachting industry. Meanwhile, there are challenges for the crew to participate in, including the sailboat challenge where each group is given a mystery bag of scraps with various materials inside to create a model sailing boat. Owners will get to watch the action as boats compete down water troughs.
A new race course will provide a change for the second day of racing through the Mai Khao Bay. Sailing yacht APHRODITE has won on the last two occasions and competitors are looking forward to taking the top podium place from her.
Berths for superyachts over 21m/70ft are limited and superyacht owners are advised to confirm their attendance ahead of the event.
