Cizgi Yachts of Turkey are due to launch the 42 meter motor yacht E&E (ex Jasmin II) next week on the 9th of August. Superyacht E&E is a new modern 42 meter explorer style motor yacht which was designed by Vripak built at the Cizgi Shipyard in Turkey.
Yacht E&E (ex Jasmin II) is the successor to the first boat, Jasmin, which is a 37 meter expedition charter yacht which was built by RMK. The new E&E yacht has an overall beam of just over 9 meters and a draft of 2.72-meters.
Sansal Ilgun, the owner’s representative and project co-ordinator for yacht E&E comments on the yachts stability: ‘The boat is very high, more than 17 metres above the waterline. She has to be very light at the top and heavy at the bottom in order to give the maximum stability and comfort to the boat,’
Vripack designed the yacht’s exteriors to be constructed from four carefully calculated materials to ensure stability. The wheelhouse and navigation mast are made of a light composite, the upper deck is aluminium, the hull is steel and her very bottom is iron. This bottom-up construction has kept the 487 gross tonne, five-deck yacht extremely stable during tank tests conducted in Holland. A designed weight of 480 tonnes means she is under the crucial 500 tons mark.
Special attention was also paid to minimise vibration, employing the services of a world expert and using high-quality insulation materials. The result is the E&E yacht allows those onboard to cruise and explore in a comfortable quiet and spacious environment.
‘This is a cruising yacht really, if you like you can make 4,500 miles without any replenishment of fuel, but it is a superyacht with little vibration or noise,’ notes Sansal Ilgun.
The interior of the Expedition yacht E&E (ex Jasmin II) was designed by the well-known interior design company of Art Line Studios which features warm woods, hammered metals and a variety of other materials in a technically complex yet aesthetical design.
The E&E yacht can accommodate up to 10 guests in five staterooms, including the owners’ master stateroom, two double and two twin cabins, and her crew accommodation that sleeps 13 complies with new IMO, MCA, Solas and Marshall Islands commercial yacht codes.
M/Y E&E by Cizgi Yachts is powered by twin 75 horse power engines providing an expected top speed of 14 knots with a cruising speed of 11 knots. She has been built to ABS class and LY2 code.
The superyacht E&E will be launched in Istanbul on the 9th of August and her debut will be at the Monaco Yacht Show 2011 in September.
