Compact, 23.95m (78’7″) displacement motor yacht LEMANJA is custom built Bering Yacht described by the Turkish shipyard as a pocket expedition yacht. With a steel hull and volume of around 102GT, she has been designed to exact specifications from the owner-operator who plans to travel the world spending long periods on board.
The owner’s yachting story began when he purchased his first pleasure yacht several years ago before becoming a marine enthusiast and experienced captain. With the purchase of LEMANJA – the Brazilian goddess of the sea – he is looking to live his dream on board a versatile, stable and secure yacht as he navigates the world with his wife.
Customisations from the standard B76 model include converting the upper deck captain’s cabin to a salon with access to the wheelhouse and replacing a guest cabin on the lower deck with additional storage and refrigeration, enabling provisioning for longer voyages. As they are planning on living on board, the owner and his wife created an open plan main deck with central galley giving the space a contemporary, homely feel.
The yacht’s maiden voyage took her from Antalya in Turkey, through the Aegean Sea visiting Turkey and the Greek Islands before traversing the Mediterranean taking in Italy, Spain, Portugal and France and finally arriving in Portsmouth, Great Britain. The owner currently has one crew member on board but can operate the vessel just with himself and his wife, giving endless opportunity for travel anywhere in the world. Their next expedition is planned for northern waters with a trip to Norway via Ireland and Scotland.
Bering Yachts have created a fabulous explorer yacht which also boasts incredible fuel efficiency and versatility – she is able to cruise on a single engine using just 30 litres of fuel an hour. Explorer yachts make a great choice for visiting remote regions of the planet and charter expeditions to extreme locations are possible on-board specialist yachts of all sizes.
