Following a year-long conversion at the Icon Yachts shipyard, 68.2m/223.9ft luxury explorer yacht RAGNAR is ready for charter to polar destinations such as Norway, Greenland, Iceland and beyond with her incredible range of 6,000 nautical miles.
The beautiful interiors from British studio RWD have an unusual and atmospheric theme, taking inspiration from medieval warship craftsmanship and British heritage. Across the decks, guests will find a forward observation lounge and library, the main salon with wet bar and humidor combined with a formal dining room. The sky lounge on Deck A is the highest interior deck on board and the perfect place to relax with the views. Three inviting sofas create a cosy seating area around a forward widescreen TV, and there is a card table to pass the time on journeys to remote locations.
Guests looking for some pampering have a range of services to choose from in the dedicated spa with massage room, a sauna, steam room, rainforest shower, and hot and cold foot spa – the perfect way to relax after cruising amongst the glaciers of Greenland or whale watching in the Norwegian Fjords.
The exterior guest areas offer plenty of options for unwinding in hot or cold weather, with a pool and sun pads on the upper deck and a helipad behind to give the group a bird’s eye tour of the area. The alfresco dining area is just outside of the main salon, however, there is also ample seating outside of the sky lounge for more casual dining and conversation, while the Master suites on the deck below have seating for coffee mornings and breakfast in peace.
The observation lounge has its own forward terrace for taking in the scenery, but nowhere on board beats the top deck for its commanding views. Here, guests have the option of unwinding in the forward seating while sipping on a drink from the wet bar, sunbathing on the sun loungers or sun pads aft following a dip in the Jacuzzi.
Guests can also warm up and keep fit with the large selection of gym equipment available onboard.
There is a marvellous selection of water toys on board to take to the far reaches of the world, and the collection includes:
- 4 x Ribeye Jet skis
- 4 x Snow mobiles
- 4 x ATV Quad bike
- 1 x U-Boat Worx C-Explorer 3 submarine (3 pax), and
- Ski and heli-skiing equipment
Additional benefits include a tender designed for ice conditions with a warm-up system.
The accommodation sleeps up to 12 guests over 8 generous en-suite cabins: 2 Master suites, 4 double cabins and 2 twin cabins. Both Master suites enjoy an aft outdoor terrace and great views from their elevated position on Deck B. The rest of the guest accommodation is placed on the main deck and each cabin has the benefit of large windows and plenty of volume for added comfort.
More about this newly launched expedition yacht as she prepares for her 2020 adventures will be released soon.
