Expedition yacht REV (REV Ocean) has begun her journey to Brattvåg in Norway where she will begin an eight-month outfitting process. Once done, she will continue on to Germany for completion with an estimated delivery date in winter 2020/spring 2021.
Launched on the 24th of August at the Fincantieri/Vard Holdings shipyard in Tulcea, Romania, no time was wasted in beginning her 35-day tow to Northern Europe.
Expedition yacht REV features an exterior design by Espen Oeino and is currently the world’s largest motor yacht by length at 183m/600ft, beating mega yacht AZZAM by only 3m/9.8ft. The spacious beam of 22m/72ft provides accommodation for up to 36 guest and 54 crew as well as plenty of technical spaces for cutting-edge systems: laboratories and an auditorium are on board as well as a multi-purpose cargo deck and storage for an autonomous submarine.
Advanced sensors will survey and record data on the currents and various flora and fauna along the seabeds E/Y REV will explore. To ensure that there is a minimal environmental impact in the environmentally sensitive regions she will visit, expedition yacht REV has excellent fuel efficiency with an energy recovery rudder system, engines capable of multiple speeds, a direct drive diesel-propulsion system and an exhaust cleaning system for reduced emissions.
Once delivered, expedtion yacht REV will become for private charters all over the world.
