British luxury motor yacht builder, Fairline Boats is exhibiting a 6-model line-up at the Cannes International Boat & Yacht Show 2011, featuring models from the Squadron flybridge motor yacht and Targa express cruiser ranges.
Targa express cruiser
One of Fairline’s latest generation express cruisers, the Targa 58 GRAN TURISMO arrives in Cannes after completing her summer tour of the western Mediterranean. She is being showcased following the model’s first appearance last year – and is now an award-winning boat, having won the ‘Motor Boat of the Year’ Award 2011 in the ‘Sportscruiser Above 45ft’ category.
Also on display, the Targa 38 motoryacht has been one of the fastest selling models in the Fairline range since her launch in 2006. In 2007, she won the prestigious ‘European Powerboat of the Year’ in the 30ft to 40ft category, as judged by marine magazines from 10 European countries. A new variant is available from September 2011, with the introduction of the Targa 38 GRAN TURISMO yacht, featuring a hardtop with powered sliding canvas roof, upgrades to the interior furnishings and new hull feature windows. A scale model is on display at the Show.
Fairline also offers the Targa 44 model in OPEN and GRAN TURISMO variants. Following her French debut last year, the Targa 44 OPEN express cruiser returns to the Show. With sociable entertaining in mind, the Targa 44 OPEN features a large cockpit with a cleverly designed table that can easily be converted to a sunbed.
Squadron flybridge motor yacht
2011 marks the 20th year since the first Fairline Squadron flybridge motor yacht was launched with the introduction of the Squadron 62 in 1991. With comfort, space and the use of high quality, beautifully finished interiors at the core of every model design, the Squadron flybridge motor yacht was designed for a new luxury boating market and has become globally recognised, picking up awards and media praise over the years, including a ‘Motor Boat of the Year’ award for the Squadron 65 and Squadron 55 in their respective categories.
The Squadron 42 and motor yacht Squadron 65 are on display alongside the Squadron 78 CUSTOM. The smallest in the range, the Squadron 42 carries many of the design and technology advances pioneered in the larger models to offer a practical, user-friendly flybridge motor yacht. The award-winning Squadron 65 offers three cabins plus crew, all with en-suite facilities. An exceptional feeling of spaciousness is provided by the arrangement of the Squadron 65’s saloon, galley and dinette. The Squadron 78 CUSTOM yacht layout options are extensive and amongst many features, customers can choose to include a dedicated office, separate walk-in wardrobes or enlarged en-suite bathroom.
Derek Carter, CEO of Fairline Boats comments on the company’s presence at the Show: “Year on year, the Cannes International Boat & Yacht Show proves to be an important event in our calendar to meet with many customers visiting from throughout the world. Our attendance this year is particularly significant as we enter the Show with a major Squadron milestone; 20 years of the Squadron brand. We are proud of the longevity of the Squadron brand and are introducing the newest addition to the range with the Squadron 50 this autumn, followed by the latest generation Squadron 78 CUSTOM in January next year and our flagship model, the Squadron 80 CUSTOM in 2013.”
