In celebration of 70 years in business, Feadship has revealed a specially-commissioned glass composition made up of one unique glass piece for 300 of the 450 of its luxury yachts ever built. After being presented in Monaco, this ‘Jewels in the Crown’ sculpture is making its way to the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show running from the 30th of October until the 3rd of November.
The circular pieces of glass in the Jewels in the Crown vary in size from 80mm to 140mm: Liquid glass was poured into a custom-made mould cast by bronze experts and then pressed down using a piece of graphite until cooled. The top layer was then ground down to form a completely flat surface onto which the profiles of more than 300 Feadship vessels were individually glued. The profiles were added by hand into a ring inside out so as to conceal the sides, completed by a faceted finish. A number of Feadship Owners attending the Monaco Yacht Show were also presented with their very own ‘jewel’, which was custom-made to feature their Feadship.
So, how much does it cost to charter a yacht by Feadship? Below is a sample of true works of art in a form of the largest fully-custom-built superyachts by this renowned and respected Dutch yacht builder:
