Feadship directors, Henk and Tom de Vries, have been honoured with the Leadership Award during the annual International Superyacht Society’s Awards ceremony in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The committee of peers as well as competitors that made up the jury for the award had this to say about the De Vries cousins: “They have an extraordinary ability to believe: to believe that it can and it will happen.” To make the night complete for Feadship, their 46-metre motor yacht Como received the awards for best yacht 40-65-metre as well as overall best interior.
The ISS awards were established in 1990 to focus attention on outstanding achievements in construction and design of superyachts. The Leadership Award is given for distinctive work and commitment to the industry that has contributed to the growth of the superyacht community. The international selection committee, comprised of all previous recipients, chose Henk and Tom de Vries as joint winners for the way “they have inspired and initiated countless innovations in a constant search for new and better solutions.”
The two cousins have worked for Feadship since the mid-1980s, becoming the fourth generation of the De Vries family to take the helm of the Feadship yard in Aalsmeer. “This award is recognition of the generations of excellence that have been defining factors at the Feadship yards for well over a century,” says Farouk Nefzi, Director Branding & Marketing. “Together with their colleagues at the Feadship yard in Kaag, Henk and Tom have helped ensure Feadship its number one brand status in the luxury motoryacht world.”
