Today’s feature superyacht is the Indian Empress Yacht which was launched just over 10 years ago at the very impressive 95 metres (or over 311 ft) in length. This still makes her one of the largest private superyachts in existence and certainly one of the largest yacht available for charter. Yacht Indian Empress was launched in 2000 as Al Mirqab by the quality Dutch superyacht builder Oceanco. Interior design was by The ‘A’ Group.
In winter Indian Empress is based in India in Mumbai and in the summer time she usually comes to the western Mediterranean and Malta and she has been centre of attention at the Monaco Grand Prix on several occasions.
Some of the yacht’s interesting features include a full gym and beauty room, and massage room, an office with networked computers. The superyacht’s helicopter deck, has since her initial launch been, transformed into an expansive outdoor lounge area with bar which is perfect for entertaining and throwing parties.
Accordingly, at present, no helicopters are able to land on her bridge deck.
This yacht has a magnificent Owners’ suite which is positioned up forward on the private Owner Deck Area. This area has a main owner cabin
with a full width double cabin and en suite bathroom and dressing room. There are also seating areas here, on the port and starboard sides of the yacht, as well as a private saloon, with a forward viewing area, and exterior access to a private deck and seating area.
Motor yacht Indian Empress is powered by three 10,000-hp MTU 20-cylinder engines, driving three propellers enabling her to reach speeds of up to 24 knots.
