Ferretti Group is one of the leading Italian companies in the design, construction and sale of luxury motor yachts and superyachts . This year at the 50th International Boat Show in Genoa to be held from October 2nd to 10th 2010, they are presenting an impressive 4 world previews, part of a large fleet of 25 yachts.
The Ferretti Group is presenting the following models in a unique stand in the ‘Piazzale Marina 1 scoperto’ area world previews: Ferretti 500 and Ferretti 620, Pershing 58’ and Pershing 92’.
The PERSHING 92’
The new Pershing 92’, designed by the Fulvio De Simoni with the support of the technical staff of Pershing and the close collaboration with Norberto Ferretti, the AYT (Advanced Yacht Technology) and the Centro Stile of the Ferretti Group, boasts a slim and aggressive external profile with tight lines that permit the enlargement of the internal volume, creating more space especially in the hall and the stern cockpit on the main deck.
The Pershing 92’ is a new racy and modern model, with maximum comfort on board, creating continuity between the interiors and the exteriors and incomparable living spaces. Pershing’s last project fits perfectly with the new design course inaugurated with the famous Pershing 72’, successfully followed by the Pershing 64’ and the Pershing 80’, characterised by a distinctive open personality. The Pershing range, offers a generous volume and total luminosity for direct contact with the sea highlighting the family feeling concept that has guided the stylistic choice of the entire project.
The Pershing 92’ features all the stylistic elements that distinguish the models of the fleet inlcuding the windows of the superstructure, the wide glass walls, the big foldaway door which divides the cockpit from the hall as well as the inimitable performance of each Pershing yacht.
The hull colour of the Pershing 92’ is white pearl, a distinctive note of the new Pershing model, which has always anticipated design standards and established the trends of international sailing. The yacht is almost 28 metres in lenght with 4 cabins, including the owner’s suite and two guest cabins with two side by side beds at the bow, all with en-suite bathroom.
The elegance of the furnishing is the result of the collaborative teamwork of two historic Made in Italy labels: Poltrona Frau, which has designed and realized the pilot house, all the seating and all the details of the internal furnishing, and Ernestomeda, which realized the kitchen.
Accessible from inside and outside, there is an area at the stern of the Pershing 92’ that is allocated to crew lodging. It is made up of two cabins with bathrooms, and they are linked to the kitchen. The new Pershing 92’ is powered by 2 MTU diesel of 16 V with 2638 horse power with surface propellers and ARNESON transmission and reaches the maximum speed of 42 knots and 38 knots at cruising speed. Its slimmer profile, larger volume and the study of space confirm the great care given to the project making Pershing 92’ a new point of reference which can bring about the revolution of the concept of on board living.
FERRETTI 620
The Ferretti 620 was developed and inspired from the famous model Ferretti 592. The Ferretti 620 received structural and decorative changes in design and décor, giving the yacht even greater liveability. Important technical-engineering research has also been added to these characteristics, giving the new model excellent levels of comfort and ease of handling.
The Ferretti 620 is the result of collaboration between Studio Zuccon International Project, the AYT – Advanced Yacht Technology, the Ferretti Group’s naval research and design centre, and the team of architects and designers at the Centro Stile Ferretti group. Measuring almost 19 metres in length and over 5m in width, the Ferretti 620 motor yacht responds even better to the demands of those Owners looking for a yacht with the right balance between a “compact”, sporty external line and excellent living solutions.
The Ferretti 620’s profile has been made “lighter” by inserting four large windows in the hull. An important innovation on this new model is her cockpit which has been extended in length by over a foot. Better use has been made of the space through insertion of a fixed teak table, complete with large bench, and the fact the gangway has been moved to the left – a solution typical of larger yachts – in order to make onboard access more functional.
The galley on the Ferretti 620’s is astern to starboard as in the previous model, completed by an electric wall, complete with sliding door in order to insulate the galley from the rest of the main deck. The living area is equipped with a large divan and table on the right, and on the left there is another comfortable divan. The yacht interior features a harmonious contrast between the new streaked bleached oak wood, the original biscuit colour, the lacquered inserts and the décor which plays with the light, giving a feeling of contemporary elegance.
The helm station is set in a raised position on the left in order to ensure maximum visibility whilst crusing. Below deck, the Ferretti 620 features a full-beam master cabin which is typical of larger yachts, with large open view windows, a wardrobe and full-beam head, plus a large separate shower area. There are two additional guest cabins with a private head. Both guest cabins feature large windows with portholes which can be opened.
The flying bridge of Ferretti 620 provides large open-air spaces with a sun area towards bow and a dining and grill area towards stern. A new bar unit with integrated seating has been fitted on the left, whilst the external driving position is on the right.
Ferretti 620 stands out for her exceptional levels of comfort also owing to her onboard liveability, including sound comfort and ease of handling. Excellent results have been achieved regards sound comfort. The noise levels in the salon and cabins have been reduced by over 3dBA compared with Ferretti 590, which was launched during the 2002-2003 nautical year. The combined study of a number of different elements has led to better quality of life on board including the study of layout, with the positioning of the thank used as insulator, the careful study of the discharge silencers through “Built-in” technology developed by the Ferretti Group. Introduction of the Integral V Drive by ZF propulsion system, used for the first time on yachts of this kind by the Ferretti Group, has reduced the rotating masses, significantly cutting noise levels.
As far as handling is concerned, Ferretti 620 features the cutting-edge technology of the ZF SteerCommand for Ferretti system in close collaboration with the Ferretti Group. This system features independent rudders and differentiated veer with variable assistance, halving the veer diameter and responsiveness to the controls, guaranteeing a runabout unthinkable on a 62 footer yacht, whilst still guaranteeing the highest level of handling, control and safety at any speed.
Ferretti 620 is fitted with either standard twin MAN V 8-900 engines with a power of 900mhp, or twin MAN V10-1100 with a power of 1100mhp, on request. Ferretti 620 can reach a cruise speed of over 30 knots and a top speed of 33 when fitted with the larger engines .
PERSHING 58’
The new Pershing 58’ is intense in its performance, rich and varied in its nature and generous in comfort. The new Pershing 58’ is the natural evolution of the Pershing 56’ featuring a white pearl hull, a distinguishing characteristic of the new Pershing Models. The Pershing 58 is characterized by large volumes and complete luminosity due to the direct contact with the sea.
The yacht designer Fulvio De Simoni, the stylist of the project, once again stresses the ‘family feeling’ concept that guided the stylistic choices of the new restyling. The slender superstructure with wide side windows and the choice of colour for the hull, white pearl, a distinctive feature for this new model, make the profile of the hull complete, in complete harmony with the styles of the modern conception of the Pershing.
On the hull there are new wider square windows which allow a greater visibility of the outside. The boat has 2 optional layouts. The standard layout has 3 cabins, including a full beam master cabin and two guest cabins, a VIP one at the stern and a guest cabin with twin beds at the starboard of the boat. The optional layout includes 2 cabins, the ship owner’s full beam cabin and the VIP cabin at the stern. Both versions have a crew cabin.
The deck area of the Pershing 58 is very comfortable and is distinguished by the attention given to detail and the choice of materials, from the use of oak as the dominant essence to the choice of the ecru carpet for the flooring of the cabin and the dinette. The area occupied by the dinette features new painted finishing’s which give the interiors a contemporary imprint. Similarly, opaque finishing’s were used in the rest rooms. The boat, with an 18 metre long hull, reaches a maximum spped of 48 knots and a cruising speed of 44 thanks to her two MAN engines of 1360 mhp each and surface propellers.
FERRETTI 500
The Ferretti 500 motor yacht is the re-examination of the famous Ferretti 470, one of the bestsellers in the Ferretti Yachts entry level range, with the aim of offering Owners even greater comfort by means of targeted solutions.
The Ferretti 500 is the result of cooperation between Studio Zuccon International Project, the AYT – Advanced Yacht Technology, the Ferretti Group’s naval research and design centre, and the team of architects and designers at the Centro Stile Ferrettigroup . The motor yacht Ferretti 500 develops the balance between exterior and interior space. This is clear from the extension of the cockpit surface to increase the liveability of the environment and in the work carried out on the interior décor, which gives a renewed sense of contemporary classicism, in line with the entire range.
The soaring, sporty profile of the previous model has been maintained, to which four large windows have been added on the lower deck which is reserved for guest use. There are two large windows with portholes which can be opened at bow, bringing natural light into the master cabin, whilst two oval windows with twin portholes provide light in the guest cabins.
Ferretti 500 measures over 15 m in length and is almost 5 m wide. As with Ferretti 470, Ferretti Yachts chose to maintain some of the strong points of the models of the entry level range on board Ferretti 500, with unique solutions which further optimise onboard space. The clearest example of this is the position of the stern galley, which guarantees even better liveability. A single open space comprising the cockpit, galley and living area can be created by opening the swinging window.
Onboard the Ferretti 500, the atmosphere is particularly welcoming, with the warm teak gold wood and light coming through the large windows. The well equipped galley, positioned astern, to port is designed for Owners who use their yachts firsthand. Continuing along, a large, deep, corner divan is equipped with an extendible table. Opposite, there is a low unit with doors, the television unit and a second divan. The driving position, located to port, is in a raised position with large windows offering good visibility. To starboard there is a charting unit featuring a number of lockers and drawers.
The accommodation area features three cabins including the master cabin located forward with two large wardrobes and a private head, and two bedded cabins that share a head with a shower. Natural light filters through the portholes which can be opened, developed to guarantee greater onboard comfort.
The flying bridge, which can be accessed from the cockpit, does not have roll bar. It features a spacious sun lounge with a large sun deck located towards stern, a large divan with table, and a grill area and bimini top for creating shaded areas, on request. Another sundeck is located at bow on the main deck.
The Ferretti 500 motor yacht is fitted with twin Cummins QSC 8.3 600mhp engines which push the yacht to a cruise speed of 27 knots and a top speed of 30 (preliminary data).
