EnglishPoint Marina, East Africa´s first superyacht marina, situated in Mombasa, Kenya is now embarked on the final leg of its development journey – with completion expected in December 2012.
Last week Marryat & Scott arrived on site with huge containers and off-loaded the lifts for the apartments.
The gardeners have been busy creating a nursery where they are providing tender love and care to the plants that will be required for EnglishPoint’s gardens, courtyards and the lush links between the buildings. The gardens were designed by a team of professional landscapers at Broadway Malyan.
EnglishPoint has been designed in such a way that every apartment has views across the water to the city. Now that the superstructure of the apartment buildings are up, construction of the hotel is progressing.
On a different note, work actually stopped for a little while one afternoon when all the construction site workers dropped tools to come and look at a weird-looking contraption in the ocean – turned out it was a barge that was jacked up on legs. Definitely an unusual sight in these waters! As it turned out, the barge was running tests before starting on the piling that will support the structures of the boardwalk, marina and restaurant.
The next update about the works in progress on the EnglishPoint Marina will follow in early March 2012.
