Italian shipyard Rossinavi will be unveiling luxury yacht UTOPIA IV for the first time to the public at the upcoming Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, and this eagerly-anticipated 63m/207ft vessel showcases the naval architecture of Arrabito Naval Architects as well as the breath-taking contemporary styling of Enrico Gobbi of Team 4 Design.

Commissioned by an American client and launched in March of 2018, motor yacht UTOPIA IV is perfectly suited to hosting glamorous parties among the rich and famous with spacious interiors and alfresco relaxation spaces taking advantage of an 11m/36ft beam.

The exterior profile uses a plumb bow and an elegant grey hull for a modern imposing appearance further complimented by strong horizontal lines and the cool white superstructure. The lower deck aft transom door opens out to create a massive sunbathing area which also functions as an extension to the massive 70m2/753ft2 beach club, which becomes the first space to welcome guests and visitors aboard.

The alfresco amenities continue to surprise with a swimming pool on the main deck aft, an extensive upper deck aft and a foredeck and sundeck covered in sunbeds and casual alfresco dining areas for unwinding while soaking in the incredible sights at sundown.

“We wanted it to feel like a speedboat, with a minimum draft, efficient in its range of navigation, with an intelligent propulsion and completely tailor-made,” Commented Rossinavi COO Federico Rossi. “At the beginning of the design process, we had to consider the relationship between the engine horsepower necessary to achieve certain speeds and its weight. The overall balance is a particular feature of this boat, an interesting idea which makes UTOPIA IV unique.”

Inside, the interiors use a variety of high-quality natural materials to create comfortable and sombre living spaces that make use of full-height windows and LED lighting in the ceiling, walls and floor for enchanting evening ambience.

The main salon joins seamlessly with the aft alfresco lounge and the room offers an abundance of seating in a light-filled setting making use of mirrors and symmetry to emphasise the space. The flow is never interrupted between social areas and clear pathways within the minimalist setting provide ample room to the formal dining area and access to the main foyer and other decks.

Work and play come together in the second voluminous lounge, where a deck beside the curtained windows and bookshelves makes an efficient and enjoyable work environment. The corner of the room acts as a separation for converting with family and friends or entertaining clients in a more casual setting.

Enrico Gobbi gave further insight into the design:

“The intent was to create a dynamic architecture that seems constantly in motion. The constant research for contact between interior and exterior areas is emphasized by the openings designed on hull and superstructure and the continuous window surfaces. The main salon benefits of floor-to-ceiling windows and the Owner’s suite has a special feature: a starboard balcony of impressive dimensions that folds out into an above-water private terrace. This embodies an impressively spacious interior layout that includes five guest cabins.”

The accommodation is designed for a maximum of 12 guests over six generous en-suite cabins: The forward-facing Master suite makes use of 180 floor-to-ceiling windows for panoramic views and to flood the calm and inviting interior with natural light. After a day of sand and seawater, guests can freshen up and unwind in the lavish en-suite bathroom that provides a double shower and Jacuzzi bath. Also of note is the fixed 6m/20ft balcony that allows the occupants to privately experience the weather and ambience of each destination.

The other guest suites include a VIP stateroom, three double cabins and one twin cabin.

In terms of speed and distance, four light Rolls Royce KaMeWa water-jets and quadruple MTU 16V 2000 M96L 1939 kW engines produce an impressive 33 knots at a maximum speed of 26 knots. At an economical speed of 12 knots, she will be capable of a range greater than 3,300 nautical miles for transatlantic voyages.

Superyacht UTOPIA IV will be on display at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show running from the 31st October until the 4th of November and can be found at Superyacht Avenue on Slip 5.
