The respected La Spezia-based, luxury boat manufacturer, Baglietto, presented its latest 58m displacement yacht project in steel and aluminium at the 2012 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS). Designed by renowned Francesco Paszkowski, the 58m Baglietto displacement superyacht was introduced along with the 46m Baglietto Fast planing yacht as well as the 46m Baglietto displacement yacht.
Continuity and evolution
The 58m Baglietto displacement yacht along with the 46m Baglietto Fast planing yacht represent two projects in the company’s new era, with both exteriors and interiors signed by the Francesco Paskowski Design firm. They both represent a natural evolution for the shipyard and integrate new stylistic features with the traditional ones that have made Baglietto’s yachts famous all over the world.
The new 58-metre Beglietto displacement yacht is in steel and aluminium and reflects all Francesco Paskowsi Design experience in the design of this type of megayachts, combining the stylistic features of Baglietto’s previous displacement yachts with new elements that result in more rigorous, dynamic lines.
The core idea is that of a new-generation displacement yachts ensuring spacious, comfortable interiors, a long cruising range, but also a pleasant, harmonious style.
The clear-cut, sober profile – typical of Baglietto’s style – gives the new 58m Baglietto displacement yacht model a highly dynamic look even when the boat is at anchor, thanks to the very streamlined bow lines.
The 58m Baglietto displacement superyacht project in its entirety is characterised by a perfect blend of different and yet complementary shapes, a harmonious combination of the rectangular and trapezoidal windows on the fore main deck and the rectangular ones to stern, all the way to the more rounded-off ones in the superstructure.
The 58m Baglietto displacement yacht’s outer lines are even more stylish thanks to the linear stanchion that cuts across the superstructure, running almost parallel to the inclined bow line and ideally embracing all the decks, from the stern to the hard top sheltering the sundeck.
Soft, rounded curves can also be found in the solid wood handrails along the deck aisles and in the sundeck aft rail.
The extreme bow area on the main deck has been conceived to allow a helicopter to easily land and take off, ensuring frequent transfers from and to the yacht.
In line with contemporary trends and in order to meet the owner’s needs, the yacht has been developed to ensure large outdoor areas and roomy interiors, allowing to enjoy the utmost comfort even during long cruises.
The layout of the interiors follows a classical design with the full beam Owner’s suite on the main deck and the accommodations area including 4 guests cabins on the lower deck. Crew quarters include 6 cabins and crew mess on the lower deck while the captain’s cabin is located on the upper deck next to the wheelhouse.
Engine room includes two Caterpillar engines 3512 which allow a top speed of 16 knots. The 58m Baglietto displacement yacht will be classified by Lloyds’ Register of Shipping in compliance with MCA rules and regulations.
