Built by the Austrian shipyard Frauscher Boats, the Frauscher 1017 GT superyacht tender has received the 2014 Motor Boat of the Year Award. The winners were revealed at the Landmark Hotel in London, on January 6. The Award Ceremony was attended by about 250 guests from all over the world.
In nine categories the winning boats were chosen by a prestigious committee consisting of journalists from both magazines – Motor Boat & Yachting and Motor Boats Monthly.
The Award Ceremony was co-hosted by the editors Hugo Andrae and Rob Peake who announced the top spot of the Frauscher 1017 GT yacht tender in the category „Performance Boat“. From the beginning the 1017 GT was inspiring the international media and motor boat enthusiasts including the nomination for the “European Powerboat of the Year Award 2012”.
The 1017 GT yacht tender combines an impressive design with the well known Frauscher quality for perfect driving performance. It is just one more success story of the constant development of the Frauscher shipyard.
The hosts of the Motor Boat Awards justified the award with the exceptional characteristics of the 1017 GT superyacht tender. They described it as “…outstandingly fast, agile hull and outrageously beautiful design”. With those words said, the award was even more special for the Frauscher family and the whole team.
The Frauscher 1017 GT superyacht tender is currently the largest Frauscher model with a length of 9,99 m and excites customers from all over the world since 2011. Thus far the Frauscher 1017 GT has been built 25 times which makes it a success from the beginning for the traditional Austrian shipyard.
The 1017 GT luxury yacht tender is equipped with numerous twin engine configurations ranging from 600 to 860 HP which enables the boat to reach over 60 knots.
With a tradition of innovative ideas, precision craftsmanship and a passion for boats that goes back 85 years, Frauscher is meanwhile a major player in international boat construction and sales. Constant analysis of work processes and fast identification of potentials for improvement are firmly grounded in the corporate philosophy and were also a factor in the company’s decision to expand its facilities. The new shipyard was designed by arge. ateliers of Gmunden and planned in coordination with Porsche Consulting over a period of two years and was finished in 2012.
The production area of 3,000 m² is perfect for the future-oriented projects of Frauscher Shipyard, which together with the reorganised production processes will open the way for the construction of bigger seagoing boats.
The relocation of production and administration to the same premises will intensify communication between the two areas to enable even higher precision in the work processes and improved quality controls during construction of the boats.
With the new shipyard and a future-oriented company strategy Frauscher responds to the increasing importance of the market on the Mediterranean coast by shifting its focus to the versatility of its motor, electric and sailing boats and their outstanding handling characteristics in any water. Frauscher’s universal focus is reinforced by the new sales location that opened in 2012 at the elegant harbour of Porto Adriano at Mallorca, which allows customers to test drive the boats at sea.
