The spectacular 50-metre sailing yacht Ohana was launched by the respected NZ shipyard, Fitzroy Yachts, on October 28. Subsequently, she has undergone sail trialing and commissioning work in Auckland. Boasting a 63.1m Southern Spars rig, Ohana superyacht will have a full inventory of sails by Doyle Sails and Stratis, with a total sail area of 4,085m2, comprising her main sail of 636m2 as well as a gennaker of 1,600m2.
Under sail the 50m luxury yacht Ohana will achieve a maximum speed of 18 knots, and average at 12 knots.
Ohana yacht will make her racing debut in the NZ Millennium Cup in February 2013. Doyle Sails NZ is also proud to be returning as silver sponsors of the NZ Millennium Cup.
