Both monitors employ an extremely bright, 1,000 candela, high-efficiency, lower power consumption LED backlit color TFT LCD. They feature a special anti-reflective glass filter to cut down annoying glare, while making them easy to see in extreme sunlight conditions. With their bright colors, excellent contrast, wide viewing angles and the ability to dim, they are perfect for tropical sunlight or night time conditions. The LCD itself is physically bonded to the glass lens surface, ensuring a lifetime of fog free operation in open fly-bridge installations.
The MU150HD is a 15-inch diagonal XGA (1024 x 768) LCD display, while the MU190HD is a 19-inch diagonal SXGA (1290 x 1024). The display to bezel ration is much higher than with previous Furuno monitors. Both monitors have a built-in scaling function to accept input resolutions from SXGA (1290 x 1024,) down to VGA (640 x 480). Both feature a wide range of interface options, including: 1 RGB (VGA) analog input, 2 DVI (Digital Video Interface) inputs and 3 NTSC/PAL composite video inputs. With this variety of interface inputs, these monitors can be used for black box Radars, Fish Finders, Sonars or Furuno’s award winning NavNet series. The monitors can also display video images from security cameras, DVD players, computers or other peripheral devices in full screen or picture-in-picture with adjustable size and screen location perfect for security on superyachts.
A new feature in these monitors is the Auto DVI On/Off feature. This feature senses when a DVI video signal is present and automatically turns the power on or off for the monitor, similar to what you would experience with a desktop computer monitor. The Auto DVI On/Off saves energy by automatically turning off the monitor when it is not in use. This is a very useful utility to accentuate the user experience of Furuno’s NavNet 3D and FAR21x7 Black Box systems.
