MDL Marinas is pleased to announce that Neil Salter has been appointed as General Manager of Cobb’s Quay Marina in the UK‘s Hamworthy. Neil will be responsible for daily operations at the 1090-berth luxury yacht marina, ensuring the marina continues to provide berth holders as well as visitors with the very best in customer service and high quality facilities. Moreover, he will be responsible for driving additional development and investment in the site.
Neil joined MDL 16 years ago in 1998 and has previously managed seven marinas in the company’s portfolio, including Sant Carles Marina in Catalonia – MDL’s first marina venture outside of the UK. Neil relocated to Spain in 2008 to help establish the site and was instrumental to the initial development and success of the marina. Neil has also provided marina consultancy support in Spain, France and Italy, on behalf of MDL.
Neil holds the internationally recognised Certificated Marina Manager qualification, awarded by the Global Marine Institute, as well as an NVQ in Management and a Diploma in Industrial and Operations Management.
Commenting on his new role, Neil said: “I’m excited to be taking on this role and looking forward to the opportunities and challenges that managing the company’s largest marina will bring. Cobb’s Quay Marina is situated in a beautiful location, one of the largest natural harbours in the world, with first-class facilities. We’re inviting the local community to come and see the marina for themselves during our open weekend on the 17th and 18th May. We’ll be running a wide range of onshore and offshore activities for all the family to enjoy and hope to see as many people there as possible!”
