Two of the most highly anticipated and high profile annual events in the Hamble-based Royal Southern Yacht Club’s busy calendar have attracted a new sponsorship deal from Grant Thornton, the global business and financial advisor, with a regional office in Southampton.

This agreement, a first for the Royal Southern, signals the start of a new relationship with Grant Thornton as they become title sponsors of the Club’s prestigious annual Prizegiving Dinner and Awards Ceremony being held at the Yacht Club on 13th November 2010.  Grant Thornton will also be the headline sponsor of the Club’s 2010 New Year’s Eve Ball, held in the Club House situated on the banks of the Hamble River.

Speaking on behalf of Grant Thornton, the office’s Managing Partner, Stephen Mills, said: “The Royal Southern is recognised as one of the finest yacht clubs in the world and given our office is based right on the Solent, sponsorship of these social events is a natural fit for Grant Thornton, as well as a huge privilege.
