The AntiRoll Stabilisation System by Dynamic Marine Systems (DMS) was put into operation on board the 37-metre Van der Valk luxury yacht SANTA MARIA T off Corsica in early September as the vessel headed for the Cannes Yachting Festival 2015, achieving excellent results. Superyacht SANTA MARIA T represents the first yacht in the world to be equipped with the AntiRoll system, ensuring ultimate stability whatever the conditions.
The Captain of motor yacht SANTA MARIA T set a 6 degree roll angle to each side to activate the system, and within seconds the effects were in place, reducing the angle to just 1 degree, and operating in complete silence.
Arnold van Aken, Engineering Director of DMS Holland, commented: “The unique dual-axis fins which rotate during navigation and create a flapping motion as the boat is stationary turn high expectations into a great reality. It also distinguishes us from other current systems. AntiRoll provides stabilization both underway and at zero speed without any compromise of performance in either circumstance. This results in an unprecedented leap in terms of quality of cruising comfort. Because make no mistake, at a roll angle of 6 degrees you need to hold on left and the right as you walk. With a 1 degree roll angle you can walk around the boat as if you are walking on dry land.”
DMS Holland is currently attending the Monaco Yacht Show, displaying the AntiRoll Stabilisation System at Stand QA B6.
