Gulf Craft, one of the world’s top 10 superyacht manufacturers, has selected Garmin as the supplier for the electronics, navigation, as well as safety equipment for the latest addition to their superyacht range, motor yacht Majesty 122. Launched in Kuwait at the beginning of this month, superyacht Majesty 122 will be presented for the first time to a global audience at the 2015 Dubai International Boat Show, running in the enchanting Dubai yacht charter location from 3 – 7 March.
Founded in 1982, Gulf Craft is the largest producer of fibreglass boats in Asia and Middle East. The company has chosen Garmin as its preferred electronics, navigation, communication and safety equipment supplier, providing integrated systems for the Gulf Craft range of Majesty Yachts as well as its Oryx and Silvercraft brands.
The new luxury yacht Majesty 122 comprises two decks of richly decorated interiors and a spacious fly-bridge, with accommodation for ten guests in five staterooms, and quarters for five crew. The sumptuously designed interior is matched by its impressive exterior layout, including a large sun deck with folding balcony on the main deck seating area. The Majesty 122 is designed to have an ocean-going range of 2,100 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 15 knots, with a maximum speed of 20 knots.

Erwin Bamps, CEO of Gulf Craft said, “We chose Garmin for the Majesty Yachts 122 because of our successful history working with the company on our Majesty Yachts range as well as our other brands. Garmin’s equipment is sleek and sophisticated, offering ease of use with the high quality and reliability we expect in a world-leading product range. With Gulf Craft yachts exported all over the world, the ability to provide first class sales, service and support facilities all over the world was also an essential requirement. Like Gulf Craft, Garmin is an innovative company that continues to push the envelope.”
Since it was founded in 1989, Garmin has grown to become a global technology leader in the automotive, marine, outdoor, mobile, fitness and aviation sectors. It was one of the first companies to develop a marine GPS chartplotter and has since evolved a complete and integrated range of marine electronics products including autopilots, radar, AIS, sonar, instruments, communications, and onboard thermal imaging cameras, and portable devices such as wearable and handheld GPS, and action cameras. Garmin maintains its high quality through ensuring all product development, software and cartography is carried out internally using proprietary technology.
