design et al are pleased to announce that Haak interior design of excellence has been nominated for the International Yacht & Aviation Award 2015, with their 74m explorer motor yacht Austin concept. Luxury mega yacht Austin design will compete in the ‘Yacht Concept over 40m’ category.
With a balance of masculine and feminine interior elements, there is an excellent balance between light and dark, which achieves innovative colour variations.
The interior of superyacht Austin concept is a perfect example of nature’s colours and textures: shades of blue and pine-green are inspired by water, wind, clouds and the countryside.
The main salon of Austin superyacht concept can be used for a variety of purposes, as it is divided into several sections. The fireplace with integrated library and cinema is an area for relaxation. Movable furniture and interior features mean that the user can alter the size of library and cinema according to individual taste and space requirements.
The owner’s suite with its imposing King size bed, along with the main lounge, is the most important section of the owner’s deck. A writing desk and couch are placed to the right and left respectively of the owner’s suite entrance. Warm, earthy colours are used for the room interior, so that attention is not drawn away from the bed in the centre of the room. The colour palette of the owner’s suite blends into colours used for the the adjacent spa area, which also incorporates colours from the owner’s suite.
The lighting also gives the bed a prominent position in the room and creates a wonderfully warm ambience. The inside of the bed’s rear panel can be customised with integrated elements such as a television, mini-bar or shelving. From the bed the owner can enjoy spectacular views of the ocean.
