Heesen have announced that 50m superyacht PROJECT ORION (YN20750) was officially launched on 6th December from the Oss shipyard. Featuring exterior design by Omega Architects and interiors from Cristiano Gatto, the all-aluminium hybrid yacht represents the precision engineering and meticulous construction of the renowned Dutch shipyard.

Her visually striking design features a near-vertical bow and expansive glazing plus offers superior functionality, unparalleled seaworthiness and smooth navigation. The floor to ceiling windows maximise the natural light and maintain a seamless connection with the ocean views. Cristiano Gatto has created a six-stateroom layout with a main deck master, full-beam VIP and four additional staterooms on the lower deck, perfect for private or charter use.
PROJECT ORION Main Saloon
Featuring Heesen’s Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF), devised by naval architects Van Oosanen, she boasts a compact machinery package and lightweight construction. Power comes from twin MTU 12V 2000 M61 (IMO III) engines which deliver a top speed of 16.3 knots. Her fuel consumption is impressive for a yacht her size – 98 litres per hour at 12 knots and just 45 litres per hour in her 10-knot hybrid mode.

PROJECT ORION will continue her outfitting and commissioning, before sea trials in the North Sea. She is expected to be ready for delivery in Spring 2025 when we hope to see her on the charter market.
