The prestigious Dutch shipyard, Heesen Yachts, is thrilled to announce the sale of its motor yacht Project Galatea (YN 15640). Superyacht Project Galatea represents the first 40-metre Heesen ‘sportster’ – a yacht boasting advanced aluminium hull technology, powerful performance, uncompromising interior design, as well as peerless Dutch construction standards.
Luxury yacht Project Galatea has the optimum balance of power and comfort: Capable of 28 knots, yet boasts marble bathrooms among luxurious interior design features.
Project Galatea yacht has an open flybridge layout with 85 square metres of deck space that includes a helm station and a shaded dining area that is protected even underway by glass side panels. (With the yacht built for private use, the sun deck was designed to have maximum space for relaxing and dining.)
The 10 metre long saloon includes a large square lounge and a dining area (aft) adjacent to full-height glazed doors. With the doors open, guests can dine inside while enjoying fresh air and panoramic views. Ten guests will sleep in five cabins: there’s a full-beam main deck master, two full-beam VIP doubles and two twin cabins on the lower deck, all of which have marble ensuite bathrooms.
The ride will be luxurious too, comfort and handling are enhanced by Active Interceptor stabilizers and the very latest zero-speed Seakeeper gyro stabilizers.
Frank Laupman of Omega Architects has created an interior design that has a distinctive personality based on a theme of Dutch expressionism. Contrasting woods, simple clean lines, marquetry and glass detailing create an atmosphere of calm, contemporary elegance.
Currently under construction at the Heesen facility in Oss, superyacht Project Galatea will be launched in January 2014 and after intensive sea trials in the North Sea she will be delivered to her Owners at the end of March 2014.
