Dutch shipyard Heesen has announced the successful launch of 49.8m/163.4ft luxury yacht ALTEA, known during production as HULL YN 19550.
M/Y ALTEA is the second hull built using the Nova Plus design and engineering platform, and she is built with a Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF) for efficient cruising the world over. The exterior styling comes from Frank Laupman of Omega Architects, who opted for a contemporary appearance created with full-height windows across the decks, sturdy spray rails and a long waterline.
The interiors are styled by Cristiano Gatto and bring together neutral earthy tones, a variety of textures and carefully placed lighting to complement the natural lighting flooding in through the windows, and to create an ambient setting after dark.
The accommodation sleeps up to 12 guests across 6 beautifully-appointed contemporary en-suite cabins: 1 Master suite and 5 further guest cabins, which together total an area of 350m2/3767ft2. There are also 5 crew cabins to sleep up to 9, ensuring top maintenance and service on every cruise.
Known onboard features include a sundeck Jacuzzi and bar, a gym, plenty of sunbathing and dining areas, a sky lounge in addition to the main salon, and a main deck master suite.
A pair of MTU 12V 2000 M72 engines of 1,080kW (1,448 HP) give luxury yacht ALTEA a top speed of 19.5 knots and a transatlantic range of 3,750 nautical miles at 12 knots. A draft of just 2.2m/7ft makes her ideal for accessing shallow charter grounds such as the Bahamas while making her one of the fastest and most economical in her size class.
Superyacht PROJECT ALTEA is due to undergo her sea trials in May before she is available for delivery in June in time for the summer season in the Mediterranean.
