The renowned Dutch yacht builder Heesen has announced the joining of the hull and superstructure of YN 18950 superyacht Project Aquamarine, the first in the new 5000 Aluminium Class. The 50-metre full-aluminium yacht boasts sporty looks with curved lines, resulting in a sharp exterior design by Omega Architects attracting attention.
Her brand-new hull was designed in house in collaboration with Van Oossanen Naval Architects offers 12% gain in efficiency thanks to the raised transom and incorporated propeller tunnels in the hull to reduce the draft. The shallow draft of 2.15m allows for the yacht to cruising in shallower waters making her ideal for both the Bahamas as well as the Mediterranean. She will be fitted with two MTU new green oceanic engines with reduced NOx emissions and she will the world’s first fast-cruising yacht below 500GT to be IMO Tier III compliant.
Interiors of Aquamarine are by Cristiano Gatto and represented by simple, contemporary lines with large windows allowing for amazing panoramic views and a real sense of freedom on board. Bespoke furniture is combined with beautiful hand-picked pieces by well-known Italian manufacturers including Armani Casa and Bottega Veneta.
Scheduled for delivery in January 2021, Aquamarine is a perfect example of the ward’s progressive philosophy creating not only beautiful yachts but also advanced in architecture, engineering and Dutch quality.
