Heesen celebrates another commercial success: the 55m superyacht PROJECT CASTOR (YN 19055) has been sold to an American client. She is the most voluminous 55m luxury build by the shipyard. In November 2018, her hull and superstructure were joined together at the Oss facility. The delivery is scheduled in May 2020.
Same as her 55-metre sisterships, she features a Fast Displacement Hull Form, which provides outstanding seakeeping capabilities and fuel efficiency. The exterior styling by Frank Laupman of Omega Architects.
Bannenberg & Rowell are responsible for the interior design, characterised as “smart and approachable”. The use of Smoked Oak Chevron parquet, Calacatta and Petra Grey marbles create a sophisticated and modern atmosphere.
“The combination of carefully considered interior and exterior spaces, large windows, and a Bannenberg & Rowell interior with sinuous lines and some clever spatial manipulation seems to have proven irresistible to owners with high standards and great familiarity with yachts of this size,” mention Dickie Bannenberg and Simon Rowell of Bannenberg & Rowell.
Accommodation is offered for up to 12 guests across six staterooms. The spacious 82-sqm master suite is located on the main deck forward. Located on the upper deck, the sky lounge is the ideal place for relaxation and entertainment: guests can enjoy some drinks at the bar, unwind on sofas with a book or watch a favourite movie. The retracting glass door and huge floor-to-ceiling windows allow an abundance of natural light and offer fantastic views of the surroundings. The swim platform and beach club provide an opportunity to enjoy sunbathing and water toys, while the spa centre is perfect to relax after a day of exploring the best yachting locations.
Equipped with two MTU 8V 4000 M63 engines, PROJECT CASTOR will be able to reach a top speed of 15.5 knots. At 13 knots the yacht is expected to have a range of 4,500 nm.
Prior to delivery in May 2020, superyacht PROJECT CASTOR will be undergoing sea trials in the North Sea.
Heesen is currently working on the construction of motor yacht PROJECT POLLUX (YN 19255), scheduled for delivery in Autumn 2020.
