Heesen is expecting a busy year in 2019 with the construction of 13 luxury yachts and the launch of five vessels, the first of which will be 55m/180ft Fast Displacement Hull Form luxury yacht PROJECT ANTARES.

Due for launch on the 4th of January 2019, M/Y PROJECT ANTARES features the naval architecture of Omega Architects with interior styling from Francesco Paszkowski and Margherita Casprini that make use of Travertino and Calacatta marbles and Alpilignum teak to great effect. As a ‘mother-ship’ to the Owner’s fleet of sport fisher vessels, she is sure to see much use for entertaining and relaxation.
One of the most anticipated launches of 2019 will be PROJECT COSMOS, an 80m/262ft all-aluminium vessel with innovative naval architecture for a top speed of almost 30 knots. Once completed, she will come with the latest technology installed and become the shipyard’s largest superyacht to date.
Specialising in steel and aluminium vessels ranging from 40m/131ft to 60m/197ft and offering both platform-based spec-build yachts as well as full custom projects, Heesen has reported an excellent final quarter for 2018. As a result, there will be a significant expansion in the facilities and personnel at the Heesen shipyards particularly for the interiors division in Winterswijk where land has been secured for development.
Based on the current order intake and growth, Heesen is expecting to see further growth in turnover in the next three-five years. In addition, the start of 2019 saw the announcement of a new 57m/187ft explorer yacht – the first in the shipyard’s 41-year history.
