The much lauded 67m/220ft luxury yacht SEASENSE will be in attendance at the Monaco Yacht Show, running from the 27th-30th of September, and will be one of the largest superyachts on display throughout the event.
Composed of a steel and aluminium superstructure, the concept from Cor D. Rover is the designer’s inaugural collaboration with Benetti and successfully incorporates many of the owner’s ideas, with a main deck swimming pool that can be converted into a basketball court using carbon fibre and teak planks. Cor D. Rover has also put his stamp on the design with signature tall and narrow windows producing a gill-like effect on the hull.
As well as the extensive ‘Benetti beach club’ along the main deck aft, the interior and exterior spaces are connected together by using sliding glass doors to expose the dining area and produce a through-flowing effect to the TV lounge. Extensive use of floor-to-ceiling windows and cut-away gunwhales increase both exposure to the environment and the space available for guests to use.
“…The 3 metre high ceiling is perfect for the bespoke steel chandelier sculpture, which was commissioned specifically for installation aboard superyacht SEASENSE for her art-enthusiast owners.”
Few details have been released about her luxurious interiors which were designed by AREA of Los Angeles in collaboration with the Benetti in-house team. Over 100 materials have been used to decorate the living spaces, which feature splashes of colour in vibrant blue hues that echo a connection with the marine environment. Four different kinds of wood have been implemented in the guest cabins and marble and carpeting has been used in the bathrooms to create a stately and sophisticated environment.
The grey Antartide Marble spiral staircase makes a striking focal point in the lobby and under-step lighting and a blue wooden surrounding with steel inserts follows the flow of the stairway.
The sundeck enjoys stunning uninterrupted views and is home to a comprehensive and covered gym that connects to the lounge area where guests can rest on the sofas with a drink from the American bar while waiting for lunch from the wood-burning pizza oven.
Accommodation is placed across the decks and consists of a VIP stateroom and Master suite on the main deck, the latter of which contains a chaise lounge with twin walk-in wardrobes and a bathroom containing a shower and a tub. Luxury yacht SEASENSE has a top speed of 15.5 knots that is reached using twin Caterpillar engines that produce 1,380 kW each. While cruising at a speed of 12 knots M/Y SEASENSE is capable of a range of 5,000 nautical miles.
