Launched in 2018, 39.4m/128ft sailing yacht VIJONARA as completed her sea trials and is now with her lucky owner. She is the second hull in the Truly Classic 128 series built by the British yard Pendennis. Designed by inside and out by Hoek Design, this yacht was built for an experienced yachtsman, who worked closely with the designers.
Vijaya was customised to suit the owner’s preferences and to achieve outstanding performance. Andre Hoek explained: “Based on a proven hull specification, the Owners had a distinct vision for her customisation to suit their lifestyle, and she has been optimised extensively for performance. A new addition to the 128’ design is a bowsprit that houses the downwind sails such as the A-symmetric spinnaker or a Code sail, as well as paying homage to true vintage sailing yachts.” The latest technology, such as 3D scanning was used to ensure millimetre precision in the yacht’s symmetry.
Plenty of spaces for socialising close to the central cockpit was created by positioning the helm station in front of the aft deckhouse. The owner’s dedicated spaces include the owner’s cabin and owner’s cockpit – plenty of room for conformable cruising experience.
The interior layout was created according to the owner’s preferences, which required to incorporate a gym into a spare cabin. The yacht’s salon classically hosts lounge and dining areas. The owner’s suite features his and her bathrooms, private seating and a study. In addition to that, there is an oculus with underwater lighting, which allows viewing the underwater world. Sapele Mahogany, Italian Walnut, interior elements by Hermes were incorporated in the interior decor of the yacht.
Perhaps Vijonara will be cruising the waters of the Mediterranean this summer together with other luxury sailing yachts.
