Holland Jachtbouw are excited to announce that they have been awarded a golden Neptune for the J-Class yacht Rainbow‘s Hybrid Power and Propulsion System at the ShowBoats Design Awards 2013.
The system was developed by Arjen Zijlmans, HJB’s Technical Director who was in Monaco to receive the award at a stunning ceremony held at the Opera House. The Showboats Awards honour the industry’s creative talents, now in its fourth edition, the coveted trophy has quickly become the symbol of pride and distinction for the industry’s design professionals.
The Design and Technology award is presented to the designer/manufacturer of the most innovative item of technical equipment installed aboard a Superyacht, the judges had to consider the level of technology used, its design, functionality and the likelihood of it having a wide reaching acceptance within the Superyacht industry, Arjen and his team at HJB are justifiably proud to have won this prestigious trophy.
Superyacht Rainbow also received the Naval Architecture Award for Sailing Yachts which was presented to Dykstra Naval Architects, the team responsible for the redesign of this now multi-award winning yacht.
