Honda Australia has appointed its long-term employee Robert Johnson as Marine Manager. Effective immediately, Mr Johnson replaces Chris Schultz who has been promoted to Assistant General Manager, Power Equipment and Marine.
Honda Australia director Robert Toscano said the changes were another positive step forward for the marine division.
“Mr Johnson is no stranger to the marine industry, with 12 years experience within Honda’s marine division,” Mr Toscano said.
“His previous roles have spanned marketing, territory manager of three states, to assistant marine manager for the past two years – a role in which he’s really excelled.”
“We welcome Robert to his new role and wish him all the very best, and thank Chris for an exceptional four years as marine manager during which Honda maintained a very strong position, despite the challenging market conditions.”
Next week’s Australian launch of the much-anticipated Honda BF250, which coincides with Honda Marine’s national dealer conference, will be a fitting farewell to Mr Schultz and a warm welcome to Mr Johnson.
Mr Schultz said he would maintain his position on the board with the Boating Industry Association of Victoria and would continue a level of involvement with Honda’s marine division moving forward.
“I’ve no doubt Robert will do a great job in his new role as marine manager and I’m looking forward to watching Honda Marine continue to lead the world in marine engine innovation and performance,” Mr Schultz said.
