Southern Wind 94 sailing yacht Kiboko reported an Honourable Mention in the 23rd edition of the ADI (Association for Industrial Design) Compasso D’Oro Design Awards. Featuring naval architecture by Reichel Pugh Yacht Design, superyacht Kiboko has been styled and designed by Italian studio, Nauta Design.
Luxury yacht Kiboko has been awarded in the “Design for Environments” category. Established in 1954, ADI Compasso d’Oro Award is the oldest and most influential international design award.
The products winning an award, or mentioned, become part of the Historic Collection established by ADI in 2001, and are recognised as being of exceptional artistic and historic interest. Also Kiboko yacht has been listed in the much-sought ADI Design Index, the publication that collects, year after year, the best of Italian design put into production, selected by ADI Design permanent Observatory.
All the finalists took part in the 23rd Compasso D’Oro exhibition in Milan, which is the worldwide renown Design Capital.
Southern Wind Shipyard, founded in 1991 by the Italian entrepreneur and current Managing Director Willy Persico, specialises in the production of semi-custom, composite sailing yachts, ranging from 24 to 35 metres. It is the leader in the 30m+ category, with 16 yachts produced in the last 15 years. The yard has a long lasting co-operation with the Italian company Nauta Yachts, based in Milano, who is designing all the range of the South African/Italian boatyard, developing general concept, exterior and interior design.
Built and launched in 2010, Kiboko superyacht is a racer cruiser, which guarantees high performance and comfort, along with typical Italian elegance and functionality and is the first unit of an successful miniseries.
